We, the school board, do not condone any elected officials or members of the district administration using their positions of power to intimidate or silence parents who express concern for their child’s education. It is vital that parents feel safe and supported when advocating for their children, and we stand firmly against any form of bullying or retaliation. We believe in fostering a respectful environment where parents' voices are heard and valued in the policy-making process.
Parental involvement is essential to the success of our schools and the well-being of our students. Parents are the primary advocates for their children, and their insights and participation strengthen the educational experience. We actively encourage parents to engage with teachers, administrators, and the board to ensure their child’s needs are met. An open dialogue between parents and the district is fundamental to building trust and achieving the best outcomes for our students.
Recently, there have been attempts to discredit and vilify parents who voiced concerns about what their children are learning in school. Every parent has the right to know and question what is being taught and should not be subjected to personal attacks or silenced for demanding transparency and accountability. No parent should face retaliation for engaging in a critical conversation about their child's education. Parents' voices matter, and they should be welcomed, not discouraged.
The district has a responsibility to protect parents’ rights to advocate for their children without fear. It is crucial that the School Board is an environment where parents can participate freely and without intimidation. Together, we can create a culture of mutual respect that benefits everyone in our schools—parents, teachers, students, and staff.

FAIR protects and defends the civil rights and liberties of all individuals – without exception. Today, almost 70 years after the Civil Rights Movement began, there is an urgent need to reaffirm and advance its core principles:
To insist on our common humanity.
To advocate for tolerance, respectful discourse and viewpoint diversity.
To advance Martin Luther King Jr.’s guiding principle that we all be judged by the content of our character, not the color of our skin.
